Individual Psychotherapy
There's a bumper sticker on a car in my neighborhood that reads "Don't believe everything you think." It makes me smile every time I see it, because it's so true! Your thoughts are not your feelings, but it can surely feel that way when you're stuck in a swirling vortex of negative thought patterns, trauma-related symptoms, crippling anxiety or the heavy darkness of depression. Isolation is the enemy when it comes to any mental health issue; when you feel alone, everything just seems worse.

It takes great courage to push back against those destructive thoughts! Coming into counseling, whether for the first time or the fiftieth, sends a clear signal to the Universe that you are a fighter bravely seeking to break the spell of isolation. This is an important shift and I am deeply honored when I am chosen to partner with someone to create positive change.

Using an insightful, person-centered approach, I will help you increase your confidence to choose your path and free yourself from inertia. We will work together to identify areas where you feel stuck and develop your inner resources in order to cope with stressors in new and healthier ways.

Though I am not a medical doctor and cannot prescribe any medication, I have a solid working knowledge of commonly used psychotropic drugs and am available to consult with your other providers to determine if medication could be a helpful tool for you.
